IOS MARKER

MarkOnScreen is a digital answer sheet evaluation system that enables examiners to check and grade answer scripts on-screen, eliminating the need for physical paper handling. Here’s how the process works:

Step 1: Setup & Configuration

Install and configure MarkOnScreen software on the system.
Set up user roles (Examiners, Moderators, Admins).
Define marking scheme, subject weightage, and grading rules.
Upload the answer key  in Svg file.

Step 2: Scanning Answer Sheets

Scan physical answer sheets using a high-resolution scanner.
Save the scanned files in formats like PDF, PNG, JPEG, or TIFF.
Ensure that the scanned sheets are clear and readable to avoid errors.

Step 3: Uploading Answer Sheets to the System

Log in to the MarkOnScreen portal.
Select the exam and subject for which answer sheets need to be evaluated.
Upload the scanned answer scripts to the system.
The system automatically assigns answer sheets to examiners based on predefined rules.

Step 4: Automated Answer Recognition & Pre-Evaluation

 For MCQs & OMR-Based Questions:

  • The system detects marked bubbles and automatically grades them.
  • It applies negative marking if configured.

For Handwritten/Descriptive Answers:

  • The system identifies handwritten responses using OCR (Optical Character Recognition).
  • AI-based pattern recognition helps classify answer types.

Step 5: On-Screen Marking by Examiners

Examiners access answer scripts digitally via the MarkOnScreen interface.
  They can:

  • Highlight errors, add annotations, and comments directly on the script.
  • Assign marks question-wise using a digital marking tool.
  • Use a predefined marking scheme to ensure consistency.

AI-powered suggested scoring can assist in grading long-form answers.

Step 6: Moderation & Quality Control

A second-level moderator can review and verify marks for accuracy.
Examiners can request re-evaluation in case of discrepancies.
The system flags incomplete or incorrect responses for manual review.

Step 7: Final Score Compilation

The system compiles total marks and applies:

  • Scaling or weightage adjustments based on university rules.
  • Bonus or grace marks if applicable.
The examiner approves the final score, and it is locked for result processing.

Step 8: Result Generation & Report Exporting

Generate student-wise, subject-wise, and exam-wise performance reports.
Export results in formats like Excel, PDF, or directly upload to student portals.
Universities can print digital mark sheets for distribution.

Step 9: Data Storage & Future Access

All marked answer sheets are stored securely in the cloud or local servers.
Examiners and students can access evaluated scripts for re-evaluation or dispute resolution.
